How does the feed work?

30-second answer

Each room has a feed. Anyone in the room can post (some categories are teacher-only). React, comment, follow threads. Posts are markdown-formatted, support images and links, and surface in the master board across rooms.

Step-by-step

Posting

Click New Post at the top of any feed. Pick a category, write in markdown, attach images, post.

Categories

Every room defines its own categories: Discussion, Question, Win, Resource, Announcement, etc. Some are teacher-only — you'll see them grayed out if you can't post there.

Reacting and commenting

  • Click the emoji to add a reaction (👍 ❤️ 🎉 are universal; teachers can add custom ones)
  • Click Comment to reply. Comments support markdown too
  • Reactions and comments award points to the recipient — driving the feed loop

Threading

Comments are flat (one level deep). For long discussions, post a fresh top-level post and link back.

The Master Board

Posts you make in any room can be promoted to the Master Board — a cross-room feed visible to all members. Teachers control which posts get promoted.

Things to know

  • You can't cross-post one post to multiple rooms — write a fresh post per room.
  • Editing a post within 5 minutes of posting doesn't notify commenters; later edits add an "edited" tag.
