How do referrals and affiliates work?

30-second answer

Every member has a referral code. Share it; when someone signs up using your code, you both get points. Affiliates earn $147 cash per paid signup with a 60-day cookie. Payouts via Stripe Connect once you onboard.

Step-by-step

Two layers, one system

  • Referrals — every member has a code (visible at Referrals). Sharing it earns you points (5 per signup, 10 per converted to paid)
  • Affiliates — a stronger version with cash payouts. Apply at Affiliate Settings (open enrollment)

How affiliates pay

  • $147 USD per paid AI Junkies signup attributed to your link
  • 60-day cookie (last-touch attribution)
  • Recurring tier signups (Junkies Plus, Inner Circle, Co-Pilot) also pay — see your dashboard for current rates
  • Payouts via Stripe Connect Express (US bank transfer, 31-39 days from charge to bank due to standard rolling reserve)

Onboarding (first earning only)

You don't need to set up Stripe Connect until your first commission lands. When it does, you'll get an email asking you to complete W-9 + bank details. Onboarding is Stripe-hosted and takes 5 minutes.

What's tracked

  • Clicks on your referral link
  • Signups that convert (free → paid)
  • Refunds and chargebacks (these claw back the commission)

Things to know

  • Refunds within the policy window claw back the commission. Disputes (chargebacks) also reverse it.
  • Affiliate links use last-touch attribution — if a buyer clicks your link, then someone else's, the other person gets credit.
