How do I set up my profile?
30-second answer
Open Settings → Profile, upload an avatar, write a one-line bio, and pick a username you're happy with. A complete profile makes it 5x more likely other members will reply to your posts.
Step-by-step
Why your profile matters
Members and teachers see your avatar and display name on every post, comment, and DM. A blank profile reads as "not really here" and people skip past.
The 4 fields that matter most
- Avatar — a real photo of you, or a clean logo
- Display name — what you'd like to be called (first name is fine)
- Username — your URL handle. You can change it later but old links break
- Bio — one or two lines about what you're here for
Visit Profile Settings to update any of these.
Optional but useful
- Add your timezone — events show in your local time
- Add your social links — other members can follow up off-platform
Things to know
- Avatars are required to send DMs in some rooms (teachers can configure this).
- Username changes break old
@mentionsand shared links to your profile.
